Infinite interval problems modeling phenomena which arise in the theory of plasma and electrical potential theory. (English) Zbl 1141.34313
Summary: An upper and lower solution approach is presented for boundary value problems on the infinite interval. In particular, our theory includes a discussion of a problem which arises in the study of plasma physics, and a problem which arises in determining the electrical potential in an isolated neutral atom.
