Green’s function for the Neumann problem of the hyperbolic heat equation in infinitely long solid cylinders and thermal stresses. (English) Zbl 1142.80311

Summary: We compute the thermal stress tensor in an homogeneous isotropic infinitely long solid circular cylinder if a constant heat flux is acting on its boundary and the hyperbolic heat equation is used. We make a comparison with the corresponding results obtained in the classical setting of Fourier heat equation and remark considerable differences. To find the temperature field in the cylinder we use Green’s function method.
