Peypouquet, Juan Convex optimization in normed spaces. Theory, methods and examples. (English) Zbl 1322.90004 SpringerBriefs in Optimization. Cham: Springer (ISBN 978-3-319-13709-4/pbk; 978-3-319-13710-0/ebook). xiv, 124 p. (2015). The book is conceived as an original synthesis on the theory and methods of convex optimization in normed spaces. In the first chapter, the author recalls basic notions concerning normed spaces and the main used results concerning Hilbert spaces. The existence criteria of minimizers are given in Chapter 2 followed by Chapter 3 devoted to the analysis and calculus. Chapter 4 includes selected applications, completed by the main problem-solving strategies in Chapter 5. The final chapter is devoted to some standard abstract iterative methods, being completed by significant references and the index. This volume is a short but pertinent contribution to the study of the convex optimization in normed linear spaces, well organized and clearly presented.
