Un problème de la théorie élémentaire des nombres. (French) Zbl 0019.05002
Starting from the erroneous identity \(2u^2+2(u+1)^2+1=(2u+1)^2\) the author develops the theory of the rational right triangle \((a_n, b_n, c_n)\) whose legs are consecutive integers, obtaining the known recursion formulas for the sides and also the explicit formulas for \(a_n\), \(b_n\), and \(c_n\), as functions of \(n\).
