Wade, L. I. Certain quantities transcendental over \(\text{GF}(p^n,x)\). (English) Zbl 0063.08101 Duke Math. J. 8, 701-720 (1941). From the introduction: Let \(\text{GF}(q)\), \(q=p^n\), denote a fixed finite Galois field of order \(q\); let \(x\) be an indeterminate over the field \(\text{GF}(q)\). If \(x\) is adjoined to the field \(\text{GF}(q)\), a new field \(\text{GF}(q, x)\) is obtained. We are interested here in the nature of certain quantities over the field \(\text{GF}(q, x)\). “Transcendental” will mean ”transcendental over \(\text{GF}(q, x)\)”.For details see the review of Part II [Duke Math. J. 10, 587–594 (1943; Zbl 0063.08102)].(revised) Cited in 4 ReviewsCited in 38 Documents MSC: 11T06 Polynomials over finite fields Citations:Zbl 0063.08102 × Cite Format Result Cite Review PDF Full Text: DOI
