The conflict analysis method: Bridging the gap between ELECTRE, PROMETHEE and ORESTE. (English) Zbl 0909.90195

Summary: A multicriteria method, called the conflict analysis model, is developed combining the preference function approach of Electre and Promothee with the conflict analysis test of Oreste. The result is a comprehensive framework for multicriteria decision making that can be applied to all kind of problems no matter whether the data are ordinal or cardinal. After a description of the methodology, the method is applied to an investment choice problem in agriculture.
