A class of non-Desarguesian affine planes. (English) Zbl 0135.39301

Verf. konstruiert neue endliche affine Ebenen \(\Pi\) in analoger Weise wie früher D. R. Hughes [Can J. Math. 9, 378–388 (1957; Zbl 0082.35701)] neue projektive Ebenen gefunden hat: Die Punkte von \(\Pi\) sind die geordneten Paare \((x, y)\) mit \(x\), \(y\) aus einem endlichen Quasikörper \(R\) mit Rang 2 über seinem Kern \(F\). Die Geraden sind Punktmengen einer der beiden folgenden Typen:
(a) \(y = xm +b\) mit \(m\in R\backslash F\), \(b\in R\),
(b) \(x = ai + c\), \(y = aj + d\) mit \(i, j\in F\), \(a\in R\backslash\{0\}\), \(c, d\in R\).
Es werden Eigenschaften ihrer Kollineationsgruppen angegeben und mit ihnen gezeigt, daß die zu \(\Pi\) gehörenden projektiven Ebenen weder Translationsebenen noch dual dazu, noch im allgemeinen Hughes-Ebenen sind.
