Jameson, A. The evolution of computational methods in aerodynamics. (English) Zbl 0556.76045 J. Appl. Mech. 50, 1052-1070 (1983). The author gives a comprehensive review of the development of numerical integration methods for aircraft aerodynamics. After discussing various mathematical models, he discusses the solution of the transonic potential flow equation and of the Euler equations in detail. The following two sections are devoted to viscous flow calculations and the design problem. Over 100 references complement the review, which, most certainly, gives an interesting and exciting account of the development in computational aerodynamics during the last decades.
