Thermocapillary convection in a two-layer system. (English. Russian original) Zbl 0557.76045

Sov. Phys., Dokl. 28, 838-839 (1983); translation from Dokl. Akad. Nauk SSSR 272, 825-827 (1983).
Let the space between two horizontal solid plates on which different constant temperatures are maintained, be filled with two layers of immiscible viscous liquids. We calculate the temperature at the boundary in a two-layer formulation, i.e., we solve the conjugate hydrodynamic and thermal problem in the media on both sides of the interface.
