Claude, Daniel; Bernard-Weil, Elie Découplage et immersion d’un modèle neuro-endocrinien (Decoupling and immersion of a neuro-endocrine model). (French) Zbl 0569.92006 C. R. Acad. Sci., Paris, Sér. I 299, 129-132 (1984). The authors apply a method, recently established by the first of them [see Syst. Control Lett. 1, 242-248 (1982; Zbl 0473.93043)], of decoupling a nonlinear system and immersing it into a linear system, to the vasopressin-corticoid-system and its external control. This hormonal system can be modelled by third degree polynomials, and the same relationship applies to hormones administrated to a patient. The authors are able to decouple this system and immerse it into a linear system. Furthermore, they have implemented their solution on a personal computer and report some practical experiences with real data. A surprising result is, that in cases of too high vasopressin levels one should administer just this hormone to normalize its concentration, a consequence of the ago-antagonistic behavior.
