Cah. Sémin. Hist. Math. 6, 55-59 (1985).
This paper is a translated extract of an interview D. E. Menchov has given in March 1980 in Moscow. He tells about his meetings with mathematicians in 1927 at Paris, especially with J. Hadamard. The redaction has made mathematical-historical notes, expecially on Menchov’s work on trigonometric development and orthogonal functions [C. R. Acad. Sci., Paris 163, 433-436 (1916); Fundam. Math. 4, 82-105 (1923)] and on the importance of J. Hadamard.
