Sharp error bounds for a class of Newton-like methods. (English) Zbl 0581.47050
The paper proves the optimality of certain convergence and uniqueness conditions for a class of Newton-like methods for solving nonlinear equations in Banach spaces. The given error estimates are better than those known in the literature for different particular cases.
