Disney, Ralph L.; König, Dieter Queueing networks: A survey of their random processes. (English) Zbl 0581.60075 SIAM Rev. 27, 335-403 (1985). Research on queueing network has found considerable interest in the last 15 years due to the enormous complexity of modern technical systems, e.g. computer networks, flexible manufacturing systems, traffic systems, telecommunication systems. The mathematical theory of such networks with respect to queue length processes, sojourn times, and flow processes is presented including results up to 1984; the list of references contains over 300 books and papers. A survey of the field including more information especially about research of Russian workers is: G. P. Basharin and A. L. Tolmachev, Itogi Nauki Tekh., Ser. Teor. Veroyatn. Mat. Stat. Teor.
