The author presents an algorithm, as well as its computer program called ALIENOR, for determining all relative minima and the absolute minimum of a continuous function \(y=F(x_ 1,x_ 2,...,x_ n)\) of many variables on a given domain. The function F is given through its mathematical expression or by means of a subroutine. The idea behind the algorithm is to transform the problem in many variables to a problem of one variable only using the spirale of Archimedes.
