Yamada, Shigeru; Narihisa, Hiroyuki; Ohtera, Hiroshi Nonhomogeneous software error detection rate model: Data analyses and applications. (English) Zbl 0596.68034 RAIRO, Rech. Opér. 20, 51-60 (1986). Summary: A software reliability growth model called a nonhomogeneous error detection rate model is reviewed and applied to an actual data set of software failure occurrence time. In particular optimal software release policies with both software cost and software reliability requirements, i.e. cost-reliability optimal software release policies, are discussed for the model. Using the numerical results of the data analyses, the cost-reliability optimal software release policy is illustrated.
