The author characterizes some projective special linear groups only by conditions on the order of the group and the orders of its elements, i.e. by conditions on some simple concepts in group theory. These simple groups have been characterized by many authors in recent years, but using all the conditions on the simplicity of the groups and some other more complicated concepts.
