On the Fresnel integrals. (English) Zbl 0599.26012
It is shown how the standard device using polar coordinates to derive \(\int^{\infty}_{0}e^{-x^ 2}dx=\sqrt{\frac{1}{4}\pi}\) can be used to evaluate the Fresnel integrals \[ F_ 0=\int^{\infty}_{0}\cos x^ 2dx\quad and\quad G_ 0=\int^{\infty}_{0}\sin x^ 2dx. \]
