[For the entire collection see Zbl 0591.00024.] We introduce for Euler solvers new improvements related to grid optimization. Indeed, in order to identify accurately the characteristics of the flow, the grid should satisfy the following important conditions: (i) to take into account the geometry, body-fitted grids seem mandatory, (ii) to be fine enough in the region where the equations to be solved need accuracy. To reach objectives (i), (ii), we propose the following procedure: An initial coarse grid is generated, fulfilling only condition (i); an adaptive procedure is applied, using intermediate simulations, in order to derive from the initial grid a new grid which will satisfy conditions (i) and (ii).
