A remark on monoidal closed structures on Top. (English) Zbl 0637.18004

The main result of this note asserts that, for any closed monoidal (but not necessarily symmetric) structure on the category of topological spaces, the underlying set of the space \(X\otimes Y\) is the cartesian product \(X\times Y\).
