On shape groups and Čech homology groups of a compact space. (English) Zbl 0637.55007

The purpose of this paper is to prove that the shape groups and the Čech homology groups of an arbitrary connected compact Hausdorff space, as they were defined in two earlier papers by the authors [ibid. 6, 93-106 (1984; Zbl 0566.55008); ibid. Suppl. 3, 119-126 (1984; Zbl 0548.55012)], are isomorphic to the standard ones.
