The minimal delay decoupling problem: Feedback implementation with stability. (English) Zbl 0646.93049
The problem considered in this paper is that of the row by row decoupling with minimal delay for linear systems. The authors choose a transfer matrix approach and they introduce, as a tool, a new set of feedback invariants which characterize the minimal number of zeros at infinity and of unstable zeros of the decoupled system. The main result shows that dynamic state feedback decoupling with stability is achievable if the number of independent inputs is large enough in comparison with suitable structural indices of the systems.
