The necessary conditions for the optimality of three-dimensional bodies in a supersonic gas flow. (English. Russian original) Zbl 0664.76068

The problem of finding the optimal form of a three-dimensional body, around which there is a supersonic stationary flow of gas, is considered. It is assumed that in the domain of definition of the body all flow parameters are continuous. Using the method of Lagrange multipliers the necessary conditions for an extremum are found and it is shown that the adjoint boundary value problem is solvable.
