Numerical study of a junction between a three-dimensional elastic structure and a plate. (English) Zbl 0687.73067

Summary: This article is based on the modeling of the junction between a three- dimensional linearly elastic structure and a plate, as recently proposed by P. G. Ciarlet, H. Le Dret and R. Nzengwa [C. R. Acad. Sci. Paris, Ser. I 305, 55-58 (1987; Zbl 0632.73015), and: Junctions between three-dimensional and two-dimensional linearly elastic structures, J. Math. Pures Appl., IX. Ser. (to appear; Zbl 0661.73013)]. We describe here various numerical simulations based on this modeling. The calculations have been made using the finite element library MODULEF.
