Given a discrete set of data points arranged in a regular rectangular mesh the authors present a method to construct a \(GC^ 1\)-interpolant. They first form a set of fair mesh lines according to the given data points. These curves have to minimize some strain energy. Then they interpolate these curves by \(GC^ 1\)-Gregory-Bézier patches. An example of the interpolation of a ship hull finishes the paper.
