Adomian, G. Modification of the decomposition approach to the heat equation. (English) Zbl 0693.35068 J. Math. Anal. Appl. 124, 290-291 (1987). The author’s paper [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 113, 202-209 (1986; Zbl 0606.35037)] applies the decomposition method [see the author’s books, Stochastic systems (1983; Zbl 0523.60056) and Nonlinear stochastic operator equations (1986; Zbl 0609.60072)] in the standard way to the various forms of the heat equation. Here, he discusses the observed slow numerical convergence and proposed a modification of the decomposition approach with the aim of an acceleration of convergence.
