The author proposed a modification of quantum mechanics which roughly consists in replacing the Wiener process by the Ornstein-Uhlenbeck one in a formal construction of the Feynman quantum-mechanical propagator for the free particle. The new parameters which appear are interpreted as due to the interaction with a hypothetical “tachyonic background”. Some physical consequences of this proposal are discussed.
