Abhyankar, Shreeram S. Algebraic geometry for scientists and engineers. (English) Zbl 0709.14001 Mathematical Surveys and Monographs, 35. Providence, RI: American Mathematical Society (ISBN 0-8218-1535-0). xiii, 295 p. (1990). This is by no means a standard textbook on modern algebraic geometry, but could be a good introduction to it, giving sufficient motivation and geometric intuition to the novice in the field. The author collected ancient methods of Shreedharacharya, Bhaskarachrya, Newton, Sylvester, Noether, Kronecker, and so on, into a book, which is based on his lectures to an engineering audience.
