Piroonneau, Olivier Finite element methods for fluids. (English) Zbl 0712.76001 Chichester etc.: John Wiley & Sons Ltd.; Paris etc.: Masson. 208 p. £25.95; $ 49.85 (1989). This is a very compact book on finite elements used in fluid mechanics. However the book does assume some familiarity with the subject of finite elements and fluid mechanics, too. The various problems described in this book and the techniques employed have been used in various laboratories like INRA, Dassault Industries, France. For a postgraduate student who has sufficient knowledge of the subject this book will be quite useful. Undergraduates however, might find the going a bit difficult. All in all its a well written book on the subject and a welcome addition to the current stock of books on the finite elements in fluid mechanics.
