Guo, Ben-Yu; Ma, He-Ping A pseudospectral finite-element method for solving two-dimensional vorticity equations. (English) Zbl 0723.76058 SIAM J. Numer. Anal. 28, No. 1, 113-132 (1991). The authors develop a Fourier pseudospectral finite element method with a control operator based on the Bochner summation method for solving two- dimensional vorticity equations. Some approximation results are given in Sobolev spaces. It is also indicated that the methods developed can be as well applied to PFM’s of other linear and nonlinear problems.
