The authors describe basic concepts and features of data networks. They discuss layering approach and protocols needed to control data flow. They analyze the network processing and the network delays by means of queueing theory. Multiaccess communication and routing methods are surveyed too. The authors present possible schemes of flow of control.
Sources and suggestions for further reading and many problems are given in all chapters of the book.
