Sever, Michael The rate of total entropy generation for Riemann problems. (English) Zbl 0737.35038 J. Differ. Equations 87, No. 1, 115-143 (1990). Author’s abstract: Under fairly broad conditions, we establish a lower bound for the rate of total entropy generation associated with a similarity solution of a Riemann problem for a hyperbolic system of conservation laws. For weak Riemann problems, under more restrictive assumptions, we show that Dafermos’ entropy conditions is equivalent to the classical condition.
