## A generalization of a formula of Eisenstein.(English)Zbl 0738.14019

A classical formula of Eisenstein generates elliptic units by evaluating elliptic functions at torsion points of $$y^ 2=x^ 3+1/4$$. A generalization to genus two is derived by evaluating Abelian functions at intersections of divisors on the Jacobian of the curve $$y^ 2=x^ 5+1/4$$.
