The author investigates an alternative method to traditional computer tomography. This method is based on the processing of data from only one (summary) \(x\)-ray pattern produced by using a linear \(x\)-ray source with a specially varying intensity. A theorem is proved making possible to reconstruct the object density function on the basis of a statistical approach to solving incorrect problems.
