The book contains a number of papers, based on talks given to university teachers for history in science in the former GDR in the town of Siebenlehn (23.–26.6.1986). The topic of the talk was the revolution of natural sciences in the 17th century. Many papers include political positions which are very much influenced by the former political system. So it has to be assumed that the book is of more historical/political than of actual interest.
