Summary: We consider the problem of acoustic waves scattered by an obstacle, and the determination of the associated resonancies, so-called poles of the $$S$$-matrix. In the two-dimensional case, we present a new numerical method, tested and validated on the well-known cases, and so, give conjectures about their distribution.
