Méthodes de sommation matricielles. (Matrix summation methods). (French) Zbl 0768.40002
Besides obtaining a general condition under which a matrix method converges, the author states a strong necessary condition based on a criterion due to J. Bourgain [Isr. J. Math. 63, No. 1, 79-97 (1988; Zbl 0677.60042)] and a kind of domination principle by J.-P. Conze [Bull. Soc. Math. France, Suppl., Mem. No. 35, 7-15 (1973; Zbl 0285.28017)] for a maximal operator relative to matrix summations on automorphisms.
