The paper discusses the possibility to increase parallelity of Monte Carlo methods if an event based method working with an ensemble of particles in parallel is used. In order to simplify the computation the time step must be so small that the probability of more than one collision of particles (with e.g. impurities etc.) can be neglected (a weak point of the method). Two techniques of free flight time generation are used (constant gamma, constant time).
The benchmarks on CRAY computers show a speed up factor between 3 and 4. Some problems with the application of the technique on massively parallel computers are mentioned.
