from the abstract: “We obtain (sufficient) conditions for the existence of fixed points of locally power contracting mappings, common fixed points of compatible mappings and related fixed points of a pair of mappings (in probabilistic analysis).”
Some of the results of this paper are already available in the literature. For example, results slightly more general than Theorem 4.4 for compatible pairs of maps may be found in [the reviewer and B. D. Pant, Math. Jap. 33, No. 6, 957-973 (1988; Zbl 0675.54040)] and [S. N. Mishra, ibid. 36, No. 2, 283-289 (1991; Zbl 0731.54037)].
