The authors propose a method of spherical harmonics for calculation of the radiative gasdynamic flows past blunt bodies. They take into account radiation and absorption using two consecutive \(P_ 1\)- and \(P_ 2\)- approximations to solve them. The advantage of applying this method is a united algorithm for solving gasdynamical and heat conducting parts of the equation systemy. Numerical examples of air and mixture \((13\%\) He, \(87\%\text{H}_ 2)\) flows past an axially symmetrical body are presented.
