Calculation of radiative-energy transfer in hypersonic flow round blunt bodies using $$P_ 1$$- and $$P_ 2$$-approximations of the method of spherical harmonics.(English. Russian original)Zbl 0777.76066

The authors propose a method of spherical harmonics for calculation of the radiative gasdynamic flows past blunt bodies. They take into account radiation and absorption using two consecutive $$P_ 1$$- and $$P_ 2$$- approximations to solve them. The advantage of applying this method is a united algorithm for solving gasdynamical and heat conducting parts of the equation systemy. Numerical examples of air and mixture $$(13\%$$ He, $$87\%\text{H}_ 2)$$ flows past an axially symmetrical body are presented.
