Numerical recipes example book (C). 2. ed. (English) Zbl 0778.65003

Cambridge: Cambridge University Press. viii, 325 p. (1992).
The aim of the book is to supply C source programs which exercise and demonstrate all of the subroutines, procedures and functions presented in the authors’ work “Numerical Recipes in C: The Art of Scientific Computing”, second edition (Cambridge University Press, 1992; for the first edition (1988) see Zbl 0661.65001), which is divided into identical chapters.
Each program is accompanied by comments, a short description of its functionality, specifying also the tested procedure name. Input and output data are supplied in many cases. The Numerical Recipes software collection in C contains about 350 routines and demonstration programs.
The programs contained in both the second edition main book and the example book are available on diskettes in several machine-readable formats.
