Summary: We use the Hopf construction to give some new examples of harmonic maps between pseudo-Riemannian manifolds. It was first observed by R. T. Smith [Harmonic maps of spheres, Thesis, Warwick University (1972)] that the Hopf construction leads to harmonic maps.
