Babuška, Ivo; Suri, Manil The \(p\) and \(h-p\) versions of the finite element method, basic principles and properties. (English) Zbl 0813.65118 SIAM Rev. 36, No. 4, 578-632 (1994). A survey of recent papers on the basic properties of \(p\) and \(h-p\) versions, approximation theorems and the rate of convergence. The areas where the behaviour of the \(p\) and \(h-p\) versions are significantly different from that of the classical \(h\) version are studied. Numerical examples are given.
