\(p\)-adic points of motives. (English) Zbl 0814.14023
Jannsen, Uwe (ed.) et al., Motives. Proceedings of the summer research conference on motives, held at the University of Washington, Seattle, WA, USA, July 20-August 2, 1991. Providence, RI: American Mathematical Society. Proc. Symp. Pure Math. 55, Pt. 2, 225-249 (1994).
The author tries to extend the Bloch-Kato arguments to more general motives. Building on the special case of \(p\)-divisible groups he tries to define similar objects in this more general context, inventing procedures which in the case of \(p\)-divisible groups recover them from their cohomology.
