Mapping hierarchy for dendrites. (English) Zbl 0822.54009
An important method in classifying continua is to consider their images under mappings that have some of the properties of a homeomorphism such as being open, monotone, confluent, light, etc. The authors of the current monograph study in depth monotone, weakly confluent, open, and \(r\)-mappings between dendrites. They also present several theorems concerning the structure of dendrites and a mapping hierarchy for dendrites as well as a number of unsolved problems.
