II, Fasc. b 320, No. 6, 295-302 (1995). We describe an original local mesh refinement technique based on a multigrid architecture on nested subdomains. We next present numerical results on natural convection inside a square cavity induced by a horizontal temperature gradient. The computations are performed for steady flows up to Rayleigh number \(10^7\), and they are compared to reference solutions.
