Robust control. The parametric approach. (Disk incl.). (English) Zbl 0838.93008
Prentice Hall Information and System Sciences Series. Upper Saddle River, NJ: Prentice Hall PTR. xiv, 648 p. (1995).
The book contains a complete account of most of the fundamental results in the field of robust control under parameter uncertainty. The work provides a unified approach to robust stability theory, for both linear and nonlinear systems. A systematic use of frequency domain methods allowed the authors to combine different types of uncertainty and to link parametric robust stability with nonlinear perturbations and the results of $$H_\infty$$ theory.
The results are described in the mathematical language, oriented towards control systems applications, and lead to effective algorithms and graphical displays for design and analysis. Numerous examples of various origins, as well as exercises are included. The proposed examples illustrate the theory, and the reader who wants to avoid reading the mathematical proofs can easily understand the significance and utility of the results. A MATLAB based software package, the Robust Parametric Control ToolBox, has been developed by the authors, and a demonstration disk is included. The work addresses a broad audience, from students to theoretical scientists, and is indispensable to any specialist in the robust control field.
