Summary: A good definition of compactness in an \(L\)-fuzzy topological space was introduced by M. W. Warner and R. G. McLean [ibid. 56, 103-110 (1993; Zbl 0790.54005)]. In this paper we give an extension of this notion to arbitrary \(L\)-fuzzy subsets and study its properties.
