Symmetrized and continuous generalization of transversals. (English) Zbl 0863.05078

The partial transversals of a finite family of sets form a matroid by a theorem of Edmonds and Fulkerson. In the paper an analogue (in the symmetrized and continuous case) of this result is shown for the case of \(\mathcal M\)-polytransversals introduced by the author in an earlier paper.
