Answers to exercises in analytic and probabilistic number theory. With the collaboration of Jie Wu. (Exercices corrigés de théorie analytique et probabiliste des nombres. En collaboration avec Jie Wu.) (French) Zbl 0873.11002
This book contains all the exercises, together with worked-out solutions, of G. Tenenbaum’s [Introduction à la théorie analytique et probabiliste des nombres (1990; Zbl 0788.11001) resp. Introduction to analytic and probabilistic number theory, Cambridge Univ. Press (1995; Zbl 0831.11001)] in a revised, updated, and slightly expanded English translation.
This book, written in collaboration with Jie Wu, is a valuable, highly welcomed addendum to Tenenbaum’s monograph.
The exercises, at least in part rather difficult, embody many interesting results from number theory. Their aim is to introduce [graduate] students into research in analytic number theory.
In the reviewer’s opinion, graduate students will acquire important technical tools and a large variety of methods from analytic number theory, they will become more skillful, and they will draw large profits in thoroughly working through these demanding exercises.
