Stable and unstable linear oscillations in distributed systems. (English. Russian original) Zbl 0890.35155

Some distributed oscillatory systems have irregular, in particular, Morse, critical points, in addition to the regular points of the spectrum. Let us define oscillations near a Morse critical point as a linear bistable element (LBE). In this paper, we consider the formation and properties of LBEs in electrodynamics.
